Crowborough, Sussex

Crowborough is a town in Sussex, in the Weald at the edge of Ashdown Forest. The town developed following the opening of the railway station near Jarvis Brook in 1868, the developing town encompassing several existing hamlets and villages. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle lived at Windlesham Manor in Crowborough for the last 23 years of his life. The town is within the council area of Wealden (East Sussex).
