Croft Bridge, Yorkshire / Durham
Croft Bridge is a 14th-century road bridge across the River Tees linking Croft-on-Tees, Yorkshire (North Riding) with Hurworth Place, County Durham. It was restored in 1673 and again in 1781. The bridge forms part of a ceremonial tradition whereby at its centre, a sword known as the Conyers Falchion is presented to each new Bishop of Durham on entering the diocese for the first time. It is within the council area of North Yorkshire.
