Cramlington, Northumberland

Cramlington is a town in Northumberland. The town remained small until 1964 when it was proclaimed a New Town following which large housing estates (including Beaconhill, Collingwood, Eastfield, Mayfield, Shankhouse, Southfield, and Whitelea) were developed. The town is now effectively a dormitory town for Newcastle upon Tyne. The town is within the council area of Northumberland.
