The settlement developed around Crabbs Cross, the crossroads of Crabbs Cross Lane / The Slough and the Evesham Road, and has long lain in both counties. It has only come to be regarded as a district of Redditch in recent decades. It is within the council area of Redditch (Worcestershire).
