Countess Close, Lincolnshire
Countess Close is a mediæval moated site at Alkborough, Lincolnshire, in the Parts of Lindsey. The monument includes the buried and earthwork remains of a fortified mediæval manor house located at the top of the scarp above the River Trent floodplain. It was formerly believed to be a Roman camp. The monument is within the council area of North Lincolnshire.
