Cottingham, Yorkshire
Cottingham is a large village in Yorkshire, in the East Riding. It lies north-west of Kingston upon Hull. The village has two main shopping streets, Hallgate and King Street, which cross each other near the parish church, and a market square called Market Green. Southwood Hall is a manor house built around 1661. Following massive 20th-century development, Cottingham is sometimes claimed to be "the largest village in England". The village is within the council area of East Riding of Yorkshire.
