Corton Long Barrow, Wiltshire
Corton Long Barrow is a Neolithic long barrow near Corton, Wiltshire. The barrow is set below the crest of a north-facing promontory overlooking the Wylye Valley. The barrow mound, like others in the area, is ovoid in plan and orientated east-west. It is 160ft long, 50ft wide and stands to a height of 8ft. Partial excavation in the 19th century produced eight skeletons contemporary with the construction of the monument. It is within the council area of Wiltshire.
