Coolnagard, Tyrone

Coolnagard is a former hamlet that is now a southern suburb of Omagh, County Tyrone. It is within the townlands of Coolnagard Upper and Coolnagard Lower, in the civil parish of Drumragh. The townlands of Coolnagard Upper and Coolnagard Lower remaind largely rural until the mid 20th century, aside from the hamlet of Coolnagard in Coolnagard Upper townland. Since then both townlands have seen substantial development, with the name Coolnagard being used for the suburban estate in Coolnagard Upper townland around the site of the hamlet, of which little now remains. The area is within the council area of Fermanagh and Omagh.
