Combs Ditch, Dorset
Combs Ditch (aka Comb's Ditch or Combe Ditch) is a prehistoric linear earthwork that runs from Whatcombe Down south-east to Great Coll Wood, in Dorset. The earthwork consists of a bank with a ditch on the north-east side. Combs Ditch forms the boundary between several parishes. It is believed to be an Iron Age boundary ditch, later enlarged into a defensive earthwork in the Roman or post-Roman period. It is within the council area of Dorset.
