Codford Circle, Wiltshire

Codford Circle is a prehistoric earthwork hilltop enclosure situated on the crest of Codford Hill on Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire. The monument has an elevated oval area of nine acres, surrounded by a bank 22ft wide and up to 5ft high. This is surrounded by a ditch 16ft wide and up to 2ft deep. Such enclosures date to between the Bronze Age and Early Iron Age and are usually interpreted as stock enclosures or sites where agricultural produce was stored. It is within the council area of Wiltshire.
