Clounagh, Armagh

Clounagh (aka Clownagh) is an urban area in Portadown, County Armagh. It is within the townland of Clownagh, in the civil parish of Drumcree. Clownagh townland was developed from the early 20th century as the urban area of Portadown expanded. Clounagh Orange hall was built in 1904. Shamrock Park, home to Portadown F.C., opened in 1906. Clounagh Junior High School opened in 1957. The area is within the council area of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon.
