Clogher, Tyrone

Clogher is a village in County Tyrone. It is within the townlands of Clogher Tenements and Clogher Demesne, in the civil parish of Clogher. According to tradition a monastery and bishopric were founded in Clogher around 490 by St Macartan on the orders of his friend St Patrick. The current St Macartan's Cathedral dates from 1744. The village is within the council area of Mid Ulster.
