Clevedon, Somerset

Clevedon is a seaside town in Somerset. Previously an agricultural village, Clevedon became a popular resort town during the Victorian era. The seafront includes ornamental gardens, a Victorian bandstand and the Clevedon Marine Lake (1929). Clevedon Pier (1869) is one of the UK's earliest extant Victorian piers. Clevedon Court, just east of the town, is a manorial hall built by Sir John de Clevedon about 1320. The town is within the council area of North Somerset.
