Church of St Mary, Pembrokeshire
The Church of St Mary is a mediæval church in Carew Cheriton, Pembrokeshire. The oldest surviving parts are ornamental features in or after the style of Bishop Gower (d.1347), found in the chancel and the transept arches. The arches are decorated with four-leaved flowers in broad hollows. The nave, aisles and porch were added in the mid 15th century in a different stone and in a plainer style. The tower, possibly the work of work of Sir Rhys ap Thomas, was added around 1500. The church is surrounded by an extensive churchyard which includes the Old Mortuary Chapel. The church is within the council area of Pembrokeshire.
