Church Brough, Westmorland

Church Brough is a village lying on the Swindale Beck in the north-east of Westmorland. It is the site of the ruined 11th-century Brough Castle and the Norman St Michael's Church (C of E). It lies within the civil parish of Brough along with the nearby village of Market Brough, the two sometimes being considered one larger village of Brough, historically known as Brough under Stainmore. The village is within the council area of Westmorland and Furness.
