Chiswick, Middlesex
Chiswick is a suburban town in Middlesex, lying largely within a loop of the River Thames. The ancient parish of Chiswick contained the village of Chiswick itself (now known as Old Chiswick) and three hamlets: Turnham Green, Little Sutton and Strand on the Green. Suburban development in the 19th century saw these grow together to form a suburban town. Hogarth's House was the residence of 18th-century English artist William Hogarth. Chiswick House is a neo-Palladian villa regarded as one of the finest in England. Chiswick is within the council area of Hounslow.
