Chirk Motte (aka Castell-y-Waun) is a castle mound in Chirk, Denbighshire. Chirk Motte is a circular flat-topped mound about 100ft in diameter and 20ft high. It has been identified as a castle mound, specifically the Castell-y-Waun mentioned in 1165 and 1212. It occupies a prominent location in the town, facing the church. It is within the council area of Wrexham.
