Charlestown, Armagh
Charlestown (aka Bannfoot) is a village, situated on the east bank of the Upper Bann as it flows into Lough Neagh, in County Armagh. It is within the townland of Derryinver, in the civil parish of Montiaghs. The village was built by Charles Brownlow from the 1820s, intending to take advantage of the commercial water routes which criss-crossed the southern part of the Lough. The village is within the council area of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon.
