Charlemont, Armagh
Charlemont is a small village, lying on the east bank of the River Blackwater in County Armagh. It is within the townland of Borough Of Charlemont, in the civil parish of Loughgall. Charlemont takes its name from Charles Blount, 8th Baron Mountjoy, who built a bridge and fort here in 1602. By 1611, a settlement had grown up around the fort, incorporated as a borough in 1613. The village is within the council area of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon.
