Chard Junction, Somerset / Dorset

Chard Junction is a hamlet which developed around the site of the former Chard Junction railway station on the West of England Main Line, lying partly in Somerset and partly in Dorset. The railway station open in 1860 as Chard Road, was renamed Chard Junction in 1872 and closed in 1966. Housing and industry developed north and south of the station. The hamlet is within the council area of Somerset and Dorset.
