Chapel of Jesus of Bethlehem, Berkshire

The Chapel of Jesus of Bethlehem (aka Champs Chapel) is a 15th-century former wayside chapel in East Hendred, Berkshire. The Chapel was originally built in the 15th century by the Carthusian monks of Sheen, Surrey. It ceased to have ecclesiastical use following the Dissolution. In the 18th century the building was owned by the Champ family who used the upper part as a pigeon house and the lower part as a bakehouse and wash-house. In the 20th century it became a museum. It is within the council area of Vale of White Horse (Oxfordshire).
