Cathedral Church of St Marie, Yorkshire

The Cathedral Church of St Marie is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Sheffield, Yorkshire, in the West Riding. It is the seat of the Bishop of Hallam. It was designed in the Gothic Revival style by Matthew Ellison Hadfield and constructed from 1846-1850. The church was expensively decorated with the aid of generous donations from the Duke of Norfolk, his mother and parishioners. It was elevated to a cathedral in 1980. The cathedral is within the council area of Sheffield.
