Castleton, Lancashire
Castleton is a town in Lancashire. Castleton experienced rapid growth during the 19th century as a mill town, facilitated by the construction of the Rochdale Canal which is routed through the area. It is now contiguous with Rochdale to its north-east, of which it is now sometimes considered to be a suburb. The town is within the council area of Rochdale.
