Castle Yard, Suffolk
Castle Yard is a mediæval ringwork castle near Bramfield, Suffolk. It is prominently sited above a north-west-facing slope overlooking the village of Bramfield. The ringwork has an overall diameter of approximately 270ft and is visible as a circular platform 2ft above the exterior ground level and surrounded by a 23ft wide ditch. The ringwork may be associated with the family of de Bramfield who held the manor in the 12th century. The monument is within the council area of East Suffolk (Suffolk).
