Castle Ward, Down
Castle Ward is a mid 18th-century country house in the townland of Castleward, in the civil parish of Ballyculter, County Down. Castle Ward is known for its dual architecture, representing the differing tastes of Bernard Ward, 1st Viscount Bangor and his wife, Lady Ann Bligh. The entrance side of the building is in a classical Palladian style with columns supporting a triangular pediment. The opposite side is Georgian Gothic with pointed windows, battlements and finials. The house is in the care of the National Trust. The house is within the council area of Newry, Mourne and Down.
