Castle Kayle, Cornwall

Castle Kayle is a "round" settlement enclosure near Hayle, Cornwall. Rounds are small embanked enclosures dating to between the later Iron Age and the early post-Roman period. It is situated on an upper north-east-facing slope overlooking the valley of a tributary to the River Hayle. The round survives as a roughly circular enclosure of approximately 190ft in diameter. It is enclosed by a partially upstanding rampart measuring up to 6ft high. The monument is within the council area of Cornwall.
