Castle Archdale Estate, Fermanagh

The Castle Archdale Estate is a historic estate, lying on the shores of Lower Lough Erne, County Fermanagh. The estate was established by the Archdale family during the Plantation. The first castle (now known as Old Castle Archdale) was built in 1615 by John Archdale. In the late 18th century the Castle Archdale mansion was built to the south of the old castle, which then fell into decay. The 18th-century mansion was demolished in 1970. Much of the estate now forms the Castle Archdale Country Park. The estate is within the council area of Fermanagh and Omagh.
