Carryduff, Down

Carryduff is a small town in County Down. It is within the townlands of Carryduff and Mealough, in the civil parish of Drumbo. Prior to the mid 20th century, the townland of Carryduff was almost entirely rural, with a dispersed hamlet around Carryduff Presbyterian Church (1841) and Carryduff Post Office (1850) near the townland's centre. Since then the area has seen massive development and the creation of Carryduff as a small town. Queen's Fort rath (ringfort) has survived, surrounded by housing. The town is within the council area of Lisburn and Castlereagh.
