Carrickfergus Gasworks, Antrim
Carrickfergus Gasworks is Ireland's sole surviving coal gasworks, located in the town of Carrickfergus, County Antrim. Opened in 1855, it supplied Carrickfergus with gas made from coal until 1967. The site was fully restored by Carrickfergus Gasworks Preservation Society. The monument is in the care of the Department for Communities. The monument is within the council area of Mid and East Antrim.
