Carncastle, Antrim
Carncastle is a small village in County Antrim. It is within the townlands of Corkermain and Ballycastle, in the civil parish of Carncastle. The Cairncastle Presbyterian Church congregation was founded in 1646, one of the oldest in Ireland. The current church opened in 1831. The Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church has a meeting room (the Old Presbyterian Church Cairncastle) which, though built in 1989, is on the site of a 19th century meeting room. The village developed around the churches from the mid 19th century. The village is within the council area of Mid and East Antrim.
