Cargan, Antrim
Cargan is a hamlet, lying on the Cargan Water at the foot of Slievenanee in Glenravel, County Antrim. It is within the townland of Cargan, in the civil parish of Dunaghy. The hamlet owes its origins to the opening of an iron ore mine in the late 19th century and the opening of Cargan Railway Station in 1889. The hamlet is within the council area of Mid and East Antrim.
