Carew Castle, Pembrokeshire

Carew Castle is a Norman castle at Carew, Pembrokeshire. The castle stands on a limestone bluff, the site of an Iron Age fort, overlooking the Carew inlet of the Milford Haven Waterway. The castle has its origins in a stone keep built by Gerald de Windsor around 1100. The current high-walled structure with a complex of rooms and halls was created in about 1270 by Nicholas de Carew. The castle is within the council area of Pembrokeshire.
