Calderdale CA, Yorkshire / Lancashire

Calderdale is a council area. It forms the unitary authority in a single-tier system of local government. It takes its name from the River Calder. Most of the council area lies in Yorkshire, including Halifax, Hebden Bridge, Sowerby Bridge and Brighouse. An area in the west of the council area (including Walsden) lies in Lancashire. The town of Todmorden is split between the two historic counties.
