Caesar's Camp, Berkshire
Caesar's Camp is an Iron Age hillfort to the south of Bracknell, Berkshire. The hillfort covers an area of about 17 acres and is surrounded by a mile-long ditch, making it one of the largest in southern England. The name was applied to the earthworks by antiquarians in the mistaken belief that it was a Roman camp left by Julius Caesar. Within the area of the hillfort is a sub-square redoubt roughly 120ft across which appears to form part of the defence line created for military exercise purposes in 1792. The monument is within the council area of Bracknell Forest.
Historic England Scheduled Monument 1016334.
