Caerphilly Castle (Castell Caerffili) is a mediæval fortification in Caerphilly, Glamorgan. It was constructed by Gilbert de Clare in the 13th century as part of his campaign to conquer Glamorgan. It is in the care of Cadw. It is within the council area of Caerphilly.
