Caernarfon Castle, Caernarfonshire

Caernarfon Castle (Castell Caernarfon) is a mediæval fortress in Caernarfon, Caernarfonshire. The castle and town established by Edward I acted as the administrative centre of north Wales, and as a result the defences were built on a grand scale. It is in the care of Cadw. It is within the council area of Gwynedd.
