Caerau, Glamorgan

Caerau is a former village which now lies on the edge of the urban area around Cardiff. Caerau Hillfort is one of the largest Iron Age sites of its type in Great Britain. The old parish church, St Mary's, and a small ringwork, almost certainly a mediæval castle site probably contemporary with the church, stand within the hillfort. Caerau is within the council area of Cardiff.
