Bushbury, Staffordshire
Bushbury is a suburban village in Staffordshire. It is listed in Domesday as 'Biscopsberie'. The village was transformed by the construction of large housing estates from the 1920s. It now effectively forms an outer northern suburb of Wolverhampton. St Mary's Church contains the tomb of Sir Hugh de Byshbury who is reputed to have built the church in the 15th century. In the churchyard is a preaching cross believed to date from the 10th or 11th century. It is within the council area of Wolverhampton.
