Burston, Buckinghamshire
Burston is a deserted mediæval village near Aston Abbotts in Buckinghamshire. The settlement earthworks are contained within a single pasture field of 22 acres. The central feature of the settlement is the main street, a broad hollow way which traverses the pasture. The village was deserted after its residents were evicted in 1488, to clear arable farmland for sheep grazing. It is within the council area of Buckinghamshire.
