Burreth, Lincolnshire

Burreth is a deserted mediæval village near Bucknall in Lincolnshire, in the Parts of Lindsey. Mentioned in Domesday, the village appears to have been abandoned in the 15th century. Earthworks include a moat, a hollow way, extensive ridge and furrow and a trackway leading toward Tupholme Abbey. The reputed site of the church is marked by a rough mound within an enclosure. The site is within the council area of East Lindsey (Lincolnshire).
