Buckland, Hampshire

Buckland is a former village that is now an urban area in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Buckland is one of three settlements on Portsea Island listed in Domesday, as 'Bocheland'. Buckland was incorporated into the municipal area of Portsmouth in the 1860s. It was severely bomb damaged during the Second World War and redeveloped after the war. It is within the council area of Portsmouth.
