Brownlow House, Armagh

Brownlow House (aka Brownlow Castle) is a 19th-century Elizabethan Revival-style house located in the town of Lurgan, County Armagh. The house was constructed in 1833 by William Henry Playfair for Charles Brownlow, 1st Baron Lurgan. The building is a "Calendar House", featuring four wings; seven external doors; twelve external corners; fifty-two chimneys; and a total of 365 rooms. The house played an important role as a military headquarters throughout both world wars. The house is within the council area of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon.
