Bronygarth, Shropshire
Bronygarth (or Bron-y-garth) is a village in the Ceiriog Valley in Shropshire, close to the border with Denbighshire. The name, which appears in documents as far back as the 12th century, means 'Breast of the Hill'. The village lies along Offa's Dyke. Following the Norman conquest, Bronygarth became part of the Traian in the Lordship of Oswestry, becoming part of Shropshire with the passing of the Laws in Wales Act 1535. The village is within the council area of Shropshire.
