Brimstage Hall and Tower, Cheshire

The building is composed of a 16th-century hall, rebuilt on the site of a former 12th-century hall, as well as a connecting tower built in 1398. A roughly-cut corbel at the base of the tower, said to resemble a smiling cat, was claimed by Lewis Carroll to be the inspiration for his "Cheshire Cat". It is within the council area of Wirral.
