Bridge House, Westmorland

Bridge House is a late 17th-century house situated on a minute bridge over the Stock Ghyll in Ambleside, Westmorland. The bridge was built to link the house and gardens of the former Hall with the orchards on the other side of the stream, and the house was built on top of the bridge as a summer-house. It was purchased by local people in 1926 and given to the National Trust. It is within the council area of Westmorland and Furness.
