Brentry, Gloucestershire
Brentry is a former hamlet that is now an outer northern suburb of Bristol, Gloucestershire. Brentry House (now known as Repton House) was designed by Humphry Repton and built for Bristol merchant William Payne in 1802. From 1898 it formed the Royal Victoria Homes inebriates reformatory. It is now residential apartments. The area remained rural until the mid 20th century, from which time it was developed for housing. The area is within the council area of Bristol.
