Brauncewell, Lincolnshire

Brauncewell is a deserted mediæval village near Bloxholm in Lincolnshire, in the Parts of Kesteven. The village existed before Domesday, but had shrunk to a few buildings by the 19th century. The remains take the form of substantial earthworks, standing up to 3ft in height, which represent a planned settlement laid out along a single street. All Saints Church (now redundant) dates from the 16th century, though is believed to be built on the site of an earlier church. The site is within the council area of North Kesteven (Lincolnshire).
Historic England Scheduled Monument 1018397.
