Bramley, Yorkshire
Bramley is a town in Yorkshire, in the West Riding. The town was described in Domesday as Brameleia and Bramelei. The woollen industry, boot making and engineering saw the town boom in the 19th century. Redevelopment in the 1960s and 1970s saw much of the town's built heritage lost. A mediæval water pump and stone water trough survive on Stocks Hill. 20th- and 21st-century urban spread has effectively made Bramley an outer suburb of Leeds. It is within the council area of Leeds.
