Bradford Cathedral, Yorkshire
Bradford Cathedral (formally the Cathedral Church of St Peter) is a Church of England cathedral in Bradford, Yorkshire, in the West Riding. It is one of three co-equal cathedrals in the Diocese of Leeds alongside Ripon and Wakefield. A church is believed to stood on the site since the 7th century. A second church was built around 1200 and a third in the mid 15th century. The tower in the Perpendicular style at the west end was finished in 1508. A clerestory was added by the end of the 15th century. The church became a cathedral in 1919. It was extended in the 1950s and 1960s by Edward Maufe. The cathedral is within the council area of Bradford.
