Brackfield Bawn, Londonderry

Brackfield Bawn is a ruined 17th-century castle in the townland of Brackfield, County Londonderry. It was built soon after 1611 by Sir Edward Doddington on land granted to the Skinners’ Company. The walled bawn is square with egg-shaped flanker towers at the north-west and south-east corners. The house along the south wall was 20ft wide. Its fireplaces can be seen, projecting beyond the line of the south wall. The monument is in the care of the Department for Communities. The monument is within the council area of Derry City and Strabane.
